BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Diallo

"Take control of your body, before your body takes control of you!"

My name is Thierno Diallo.  I was born in New York City.  I lived in the United States, England, Cameroon, Niger, Namibia and Zaire and had the pleasure to visited several other countries around the world. I am fluent in French and English.

My motto is “Take control of your body, before your body takes control of you!” I enjoy an array of activities, including outdoor runs, cycling, soccer, mixed martial arts, tennis, basketball, and swimming. Aesthetics don’t really matter to me, but how I perform does!

I became even more dedicated to fitness as a lifestyle after suffering from a torn Achilles’ tendon. My injury drove me to become more committed to training, resulting in a career change from computer network engineering to personal training.  I am, since, certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, East Coast Instructor Training School, as well as the Wharton Performance Clinic.

I began my personal training journey working for New York Health & Racquet Club where I found myself utilizing all the tools and training techniques I had learned throughout my youth and my travels. I found that clients enjoyed this diversity in training and I began to develop my own style.  I also worked for New York Sports Club in Forest Hills, and more recently, was an exercise specialist for La Palestra, the renowned center for preventive medicine in Manhattan.  At La Palestra, I worked with a very diverse population which included healthy adults, pre/post-natal women, individuals suffering from back pain and coronary artery disease. I was also involved with members participating in post-operative rehabilitative programs that included cardiac and orthopedic procedures.

While working for various health clubs throughout New York City, I realized that health clubs only provide a facility and some may even lack the equipment or services. Without a well-rounded exercise regimen, a routine could become monotone and uninspiring. I believe as a trainer, that every program should be fun, diverse, dynamic and fulfilling. To truly reap the benefits of training, you must find a way to add variety and avoid plateaus. Plus why not have fun with it?—A quality and trademark of my training, that all my clients sought and appreciated. My ultimate goal is to impact people’s lives in a positive way through exercise.
